Members of Gabriela Women’s Party initiated a signature campaign at the Redemptorist Church in Baclaran, Parañaque, on December 19, 2024, to back Mary Jane Veloso’s appeal for absolute clemency, ABS-CBN News reported.
Veloso returned from Indonesia a day earlier and is now at the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong, where she will remain for 60 days.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. addressed the issue, stating that the decision on Veloso’s clemency, after nearly 15 years of imprisonment in Indonesia, will depend on the country’s legal experts.
