Former Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 housemates Fyang and JM shared their experiences shooting their first on-screen project together in Regine Velasquez-Alcasid’s music video “Wherever You Are”. The duo revealed that while the project was rewarding, it also came with unique challenges, especially during their underwater scenes.
Fyang, who portrayed a character inspired by Ariel in the Little Mermaid-themed video, admitted that wearing a heavy tail made swimming difficult. “Pinaka-challenge is mas mabigat sa’kin ang buntot. Nakakahingal po. Training was 1-2 hours lang, ‘tas sabak agad,” she said in an ABS-CBN News report. She also struggled with acting underwater, saying, “Ang sakit sa mata! Naka-ilang take po. Pero ayun, nakuha naman.”
JM, on the other hand, revealed a more harrowing experience. During a scene where his character appeared to be drowning, JM confessed that his struggle was real, as he is not a strong swimmer. “Kinabahan ako kasi may lunod scene. Di ako marunong lumangoy. Literal nalunod ako. Hindi acting,” he explained, adding that a lifesaver was thrown to him during the shoot.
The pair expressed their gratitude to Star Music and Velasquez-Alcasid’s team for their support and guidance throughout the production. “Super hands-on ang team ni Ms. Regine. Pag may kulang, binibigay talaga. And binigay namin best namin,” Fyang said, while JM added, “Thankful kami di kami pinabayaan ng Star Music.”
The music video, which has garnered over 3 million views as of this writing, was praised by Velasquez-Alcasid for its execution. “I’m so proud and kilig. Kung ano nasa isip ko, nakuha nila agad. Noong nakita ko, wala masyado need baguhin. I love it!” she said.
Fyang and JM are confirmed to join the Barrio Fiesta Dubai 2025, performing alongside headliners Morissette and Darren on February 23, 2025, at Gate 5, Zabeel Park.
