If you’ve spotted drones hovering above Dubai’s streets, especially near accident sites, you’re witnessing Dubai Police’s latest technological advancement—the “Drone Box” system. These drones serve as the police’s aerial eyes, revolutionizing emergency response.
According to a Khaleej Times report, the innovative “Drone Box” system deploys drones to accident or emergency sites to quickly assess the situation and relay information back to the police. This initiative enables faster and more efficient police response, aiding in quicker assistance to those in need.
“Dubai Police remains at the forefront of innovation with our smart and advanced drone system, supporting police and security operations,” stated Brigadier Turki bin Faris, director of the General Department of Operations at Dubai Police. He emphasized the system’s role in ensuring community safety and combating crime using the latest security technologies.
Equipped with multiple smart platforms across the emirate, these drones are dispatched from their stations upon receiving incident reports, significantly reducing response times for severe accidents and emergencies. Brigadier Turki highlighted the system’s support for a variety of operations, including security and traffic patrols, rescue missions, crisis and disaster management, risk detection, traffic monitoring, and providing critical data to the command centre.
The drones, visible in different areas of Dubai, are part of continuous police operations aimed at enhancing security. They assist police officers in serving the community according to the highest standards, ensuring privacy, and maintaining Dubai’s status as one of the safest cities globally.
