The UAE Public Prosecution, under the supervision of the Attorney General, has uncovered a new secret organisation operating outside the country, formed by fugitive members of the “Reform Call” Organisation, also known as the Muslim Brotherhood. Classified as a terrorist organisation in the UAE and slated for dissolution in 2013, this new outfit aims to revive the group and achieve similar goals.
Surveillance by the State Security Agency revealed that fugitives from various emirates, tried and convicted in absentia in 2013, have formed two key groups meeting abroad. These groups have recruited additional members and established a new organisation, receiving funding from both UAE-based sources and other international terrorist entities.
Investigations have shown that the organisation has allied with other terrorist entities, leveraging media, economic, and educational sectors to strengthen their presence and secure their operations abroad. Among their affiliates is the Cordoba Foundation (TCF), classified as a terrorist organisation in the UAE since 2014 and led by Muslim Brotherhood leader Anas Al-Tikriti, who is residing abroad.
The organisation’s members used encrypted communication apps and conducted secret meetings to coordinate their activities. Confessions from a detained member have shed light on the group’s structure and activities, including threats to stability, smear campaigns, hate speech, and attempts to destabilise the state through false information and incitement against its institutions.
Some members have also engaged directly with human rights and international organisations, providing misleading information to tarnish the UAE’s reputation. The Public Prosecution is conducting thorough investigations to verify these confessions and ongoing inquiries by the State Security Service. An official announcement regarding the organisation and its activities is expected once the investigations are complete.
