From burgers to laban, these were the UAE’s most ordered items last year

Ordering habits in the UAE last year leaned heavily toward familiar comfort items, based on year-end figures released by talabat covering food and grocery activity across the country.

Burgers remained the most frequently ordered item overall, with customers placing more than 47 million burger orders through the platform over the course of 2025, reinforcing the category’s long-standing popularity in the local delivery market.

Despite the dominance of burgers, the single most ordered menu item of the year was the Mini Cheese Pizza. The item recorded more than 1.3 million orders, overtaking other staples to become the top individual food choice on the app.

Coffee preferences also showed a clear front-runner. Iced Americano emerged as the most commonly ordered coffee drink, while matcha lattes followed closely behind, indicating continued interest in both classic and trend-driven beverages.

On the grocery side, laban stood out as one of the most frequently added items to shopping baskets. The traditional dairy drink generated more than 620,000 orders through talabat mart, placing it among the platform’s highest-volume grocery products of the year.

Founded in Kuwait in 2004, talabat operates across multiple markets in the Middle East and North Africa and is headquartered in Dubai. In December 2024, the company completed its initial public offering on the Dubai Financial Market and continues to operate as a subsidiary of Delivery Hero SE.
