A new phase begins for Filipinos in the Emirates as Consul General Ambrosio Brian F. Enciso III steps into his role and immediately sets a full schedule of engagements across government offices and the community during his opening week at post.
One of his first activities was a meeting in Abu Dhabi with Ambassador Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver, where both officials exchanged views on current priorities for Filipinos in the UAE. Their discussion centered on reinforcing coordination between the Embassy and the Consulate General as preparations for the shift into 2026 continue.
Back in Dubai, Consul General Enciso met with Labor Attaché Atty. John Rio A. Bautista and the Migrant Workers Office team. He acknowledged the office’s crucial frontline role and discussed the situations faced by Filipino workers in different sectors. The conversation focused on strengthening inter-agency cooperation, improving assistance channels, and refining services designed to support OFWs.
Economic links also took early priority. Consul General Enciso visited Trade Commissioner Vichael Angelo D. Roaring at the new Philippine Trade and Investment Office–Dubai branch in Oud Metha. The visit placed emphasis on widening economic diplomacy efforts, backing Filipino entrepreneurs, and supporting initiatives aligned with the UAE’s expanding commercial landscape.
His first public engagement with the Filipino community came through the inauguration of the Bur Dubai branch of Sari Sari Store, a newly opened supermarket offering Filipino food and products. The launch highlighted the steady rise of community-centered businesses and the strong demand for Filipino goods in the area.
Skills development formed part of his early programs as well. The Consulate General hosted an AI coding Seminar under the Labindalawa Upskill series, initiated by former Consul General Marford M. Angeles. Held at Rizal Hall, the session featured Engr. Joeren Flores Benito of APEX Eagles Institute/Trust Asian Training Center. In his message, Consul General Enciso said, “this initiative reflects our commitment to create meaningful opportunities for Filipinos in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, especially in areas where skills development can uplift careers, empower communities, and open new paths for growth.”
With more than 700,000 overseas Filipinos under his jurisdiction, Consul General Enciso begins his tenure with a clear focus on outreach, strengthened partnerships, and community empowerment as he officially assumes leadership of the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
