In the waters of the Kingdom of Bahrain, a unique team is blending athletic excellence with a heartfelt commitment to service. Hurricane Alpha Racing Dragons (H.A.R.D.) is not only dedicated to the sport of dragon boat racing but also to uplifting the Filipino community through various outreach programs.
The Hurricane Alpha Racing Dragons (H.A.R.D.), in partnership with Al Hilal Multispecialty Medical Center in Al Hidd, Bahrain, has organized a Free Medical Mission titled “Strength That Serves” scheduled on February 27, 2026 (Friday), from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The initiative aims to provide accessible and compassionate healthcare services to Filipinos living and working in Bahrain. Through this outreach program, organizers seek to promote overall wellness and ensure that kababayans in Bahrain have access to essential medical care and professional health consultations.
Free medical check-up will include doctor consultation, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, Body Mass Index (BMI) measurement, oxygen saturation (SpO₂) check, total cholesterol testing, and SGPT (liver screening test). Volunteer healthcare professionals from Al Hilal Multispecialty Medical Center will render services to members of the Filipino community throughout the event.
Leading the initiative are the officers of H.A.R.D.: Fidel Bandalan, President; Coach Iyah Antonino, Team Coach; Donna Santos, Vice President; Charma Valenzuela and Christine Jor-Loar, Admin – External; Dhela C. Solidad, Sponsorship and Recruitment; Rodel Badajos, Team Captain; and Jeremiah Manego, Team Leader. Their collective efforts demonstrate the organization’s dedication not only to excellence in sports and teamwork but also to meaningful social responsibility.
According to the organizers, “Strength That Serves” reflects the group’s mission to use their strength and unity to serve the community. By extending medical assistance to the Filipino community, the program emphasizes compassion, solidarity, and the importance of proactive health management among overseas Filipinos.
