The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has announced the provision of free public transport bus services for visitors attending the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi. The festival, which opens today and runs for 114 days, is set to feature a plethora of attractions including fireworks, drone shows, food stalls, and a celebration of the UAE’s heritage.
The free bus services will operate at 30-minute intervals from three locations in Abu Dhabi and its suburbs. The service starts at the Central Bus Station in Abu Dhabi City, stops at the Co-operative Society Supermarket in Rabdan, the Baniyas Court parking area, and then proceeds to the festival venue in Al Wathba.
For the convenience of visitors, the bus trips will run from 3pm to 10pm from Monday to Thursday, with return services from the festival site beginning at 4.30pm and ending at 11.30pm. On Fridays, weekends, and public holidays, the service extends, starting at 3pm and continuing until 9.30pm, with return trips from 4.30pm to midnight.
The festival’s hours are from 4pm to midnight on weekdays, extending to 1am on weekends and public holidays. The opening day features a special fireworks display and drone show at 10pm, with subsequent fireworks shows scheduled for every Saturday at the same time.
