Four young Arab men lost their lives when their car fell into the water from a bridge on Khalida Street near the Sharjah Central Market and Al Jubail Souq, Gulf News reported.
Sharjah Police reported that the accident occurred at 2:45 a.m. on Friday. The vehicle, carrying three Syrians and one Egyptian aged between 21 and 27, plunged from the bridge and submerged in the water. Three men were pronounced dead at the scene, while the fourth died in the hospital on Saturday.
Eyewitnesses alerted authorities but were unable to rescue the victims. Maritime rescue teams, police patrols, and ambulances quickly responded to the scene. The car was recovered from the water, and the bodies were transported to a hospital and later to a forensic laboratory for autopsy.
Preliminary investigations indicate that speeding, lack of focus, and sudden swerving led to the accident. The driver and passengers were unable to escape the submerged vehicle as they were trapped inside.
