Four members of the UAE Armed Forces tragically died in an accident while on duty on Tuesday evening, September 24, according to the Ministry of Defence. The soldiers were identified as Nahyan Al Marzouqi, Ahmed Al Shehhi, Nasser Al Balooshi, and Abdulaziz Al Taniji.
The Ministry expressed its deep condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers and confirmed that nine others were injured in the incident. The injured personnel were immediately transferred to a hospital for urgent medical care, with hopes for their speedy recovery.
Friends and family members shared their grief on social media, with Faisal Al-Jasim, a cousin of Nahyan Al Marzouqi, describing him as “a man of principle” and recalling his dedication to both his family and his work with the Ministry of Defence.
According to a Khaleej Times report, the four soldiers were laid to rest on Wednesday following Isha prayers. Mourning will continue for three days, starting Thursday.
Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, visited the injured and offered his condolences to the families. He praised the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces, stating their service to the nation will always be remembered. The Ministry of Defence also held a military funeral, attended by senior officials and the families of the deceased.
