Four dead after fire breaks out in Sharjah high-rise tower

Four people lost their lives and several others were injured after a fire erupted in a residential tower in Al Nahda, Sharjah on Sunday, according to a report by Gulf News.

One of the victims reportedly jumped from the 44th floor in an attempt to escape the flames. At least six others were hospitalized due to injuries or smoke inhalation.

Sharjah Civil Defense said it received the emergency alert at 11:31 am and immediately dispatched firefighting teams from nearby stations. Evacuation and emergency procedures were swiftly carried out, while police secured the area and managed traffic flow.

The fire is believed to have started on the upper floors of the building. Authorities have begun a full investigation to determine the cause and evaluate the tower’s compliance with fire safety standards.
