Former “Pinoy Big Brother” contestant, Franki Russell, is poised to take the stage at this year’s Miss Universe pageant, representing New Zealand. The announcement came through an Instagram post by a Dubai-based magazine on Thursday, naming Russell as the official candidate for New Zealand in the prestigious competition.
“This is her official launch as the new Miss Universe New Zealand. After a four-year hiatus, Franki Russell will carry the torch of New Zealand to represent her culture at the 72nd Miss Universe in Mexico City,” stated the magazine in its post.
Miss Universe New Zealand has highlighted Russell’s advocacy against cyberbullying, intending to use her platform to raise awareness not only in her home country but globally. With her background as a reality TV star from her time on “Pinoy Big Brother,” Russell brings a unique perspective to the pageant stage.
Russell’s interest in pageantry was made public in 2021, and now she gears up to showcase her charisma, advocacy, and culture on the international stage at the forthcoming Miss Universe competition.
