Former high school ‘marriage booth’ pair from Nueva Ecija end up as real-life newlyweds

A couple from Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, has captured attention online after sharing their unexpected love story—starting from a high school “marriage booth” to tying the knot in real life years later.

Haruka Yata Pamintuan went viral after posting side-by-side photos of her and her now-husband, Edward, pretending to get married during a school event, alongside pictures from their actual wedding years after.

Pamintuan shared in an interview with Inquirer that she and Edward were already exes when they joined the marriage booth activity but remained friends.

“Sobrang surreal lang din kasi hindi namin in-expect na magkakabalikan kami after the break up,” she said.

Looking back at their journey, Pamintuan admitted they never thought their playful high school moment would turn into reality.

“Nakaka-miss din yung high school days namin, especially ‘yung sa marriage booth. Hindi namin alam na mangyayari pala ‘yon sa’min in real life,” she added.

Now happily married, Pamintuan said they are each other’s first and last, reflecting on how time strengthened their relationship.

“Same pa rin naman kami, mas naging mature na kami compared sa dati. Nangyayari pala talaga ‘yung sinasabi nila na kung kayo, sa huli, kayo talaga,” she shared.
