Five individuals convicted in separate manslaughter cases have been given a fresh start after the Ajr Charity Foundation in Ras Al Khaimah settled their blood money, totaling Dh1.2 million. The humanitarian gesture, made possible through donations from philanthropists, was announced on Friday.
Sheikh Arhama bin Saud bin Khalid Al Qasimi, chairman of the foundation, expressed gratitude to the donors, highlighting in a WAM report how their contributions support the foundation’s mission to assist inmates and their families. He emphasized that this initiative reflects the deep values of tolerance and brotherhood in Emirati society.
With the blood money paid, the convicts will now have the opportunity to return home and reunite with their families. Sheikh Arhama also recognized the crucial support of UAE leaders and the collective efforts of both citizens and expatriates in making such life-changing initiatives possible.
