First Philippine Pavilion at World Art Dubai 2025 to spotlight global Filipino talent

A landmark moment for Philippine art is set to unfold as TRIBE: The Philippine Pavilion makes its debut at World Art Dubai 2025, taking place from 17–20 April 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This marks the first-ever national pavilion representing the Philippines at a major global art fair, bringing together Filipino galleries and artists from around the world under one banner.

The initiative is led by Carlo Garrido, a Filipino artist, collector, and gallerist, in collaboration with TRIBE, a collective of Filipino creatives and communicators based in the UAE. TRIBE is a sub-committee of the Philippine Business Council Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

“Having our own pavilion at World Art Dubai—one of the region’s biggest art platforms—is a milestone for the Philippines,” says Garrido. “It’s not just about showcasing talent; it’s about making space for Filipino creativity in the global art scene.”

TRIBE: The Philippine Pavilion will feature 11 Filipino-owned galleries and companies, representing over 45 Filipino artists from the Philippines, UAE, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, and the United States. The curated selection reflects the diversity and depth of contemporary Filipino art, both in the homeland and across the diaspora.

Garrido adds, “It’s time we give Filipino artistry the stage it deserves,” adds Garrido. “This may be our first national art pavilion abroad—but it certainly won’t be the last.”

World Art Dubai is known for bringing together creatives, galleries, and collectors from across the globe. The debut of the Philippine Pavilion highlights the growing international presence and influence of Filipino art and culture.

This milestone marks not only a celebration of creative excellence but also a proud cultural moment for the Filipino community—locally and globally.
