First Miss Universe crown made in the Philippines to debut in Mexico City

For the first time in Miss Universe history, a crown made in the Philippines will be featured at the international competition. Jacques Christophe Branellec, CEO of Jewelmer and known sustainability advocate, announced the significant milestone through an Instagram post. He expressed excitement as he shared that the crown will be unveiled in Mexico City, the venue for the 73rd Miss Universe pageant on November 16, 2024.

The crown, uniquely crafted with the Philippines’ national gem—the golden South Sea pearl—symbolizes both the country’s heritage and craftsmanship. “From Palawan to the Universe! Off we go to Mexico City to launch the new crown of Miss Universe by Jewelmer! First time for the Universe to have a crown made in the Philippines adorned by our national gem… Para sa bayan!” Branellec wrote.
