First Lady Liza Marcos joins OWWA wellness and membership caravan in London

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom Teodoro L. Locsin Jr. attended the “Alagang OWWA: Wellness and Membership Caravan” held on October 10, 2025, at Novotel London West in Hammersmith, London.

The event, organized by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), was designed to bring vital government services closer to Filipinos working and living in the United Kingdom.

DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac and OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan led the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, which marked the opening of the caravan’s six service booths. These included assistance desks for OWWA membership renewal, the DMW National Reintegration Network (NRN) programs, and various forms of legal, welfare, and health consultations.

The initiative underscores the government’s continuing effort to provide “Serbisyong May Puso”—a brand of service rooted in compassion and care for overseas Filipino workers—consistent with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen programs that safeguard and empower OFWs around the world.

The one-day caravan ran from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering free medical check-ups and on-site consultations, with support from the Philippine Embassy in London and the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) London.
