British actress and model Cara Delevingne faced a heart-wrenching incident as her Los Angeles residence was engulfed in flames, leaving the luxurious property in ruins. The fire, which occurred on Friday, spared no mercy on the multimillion-dollar house situated in the plush Studio City area.
Fortunately, Delevingne herself was not present at the time of the blaze. However, there were two individuals along with Delevingne’s cherished cats within the premises, all of whom managed to escape without serious harm. Expressing her dismay, the 31-year-old took to Instagram, stating, “My heart is broken today. I cannot believe it. Life can change in a blink of an eye, so cherish what you have.”
The extent of the damage was palpable from the visuals that showcased the once 8,000-square-foot, four-bedroom mansion reduced to rubble, with its roof collapsed. Delevingne, who acquired the property in 2019 for a staggering $7 million, expressed gratitude towards the firefighters and volunteers who rallied to extinguish the flames.
In a moment of relief amid the chaos, Delevingne shared a photo of her two beloved Persian cats, confirming their safety and extending her appreciation to the firefighters for their efforts. Nearly a hundred firefighters responded to the incident, battling the inferno reported before dawn.
A spokesperson from the Los Angeles Fire Department detailed the intensity of the situation, highlighting the prolonged duration and challenges faced by the crews. “Ultimately, it took 94 firefighters 2 hours and 16 minutes to access, confine and extinguish the flames,” the spokesperson stated.
