Finally, Filipinos in Dubai will be able to pay consular fees using a card payment system!

The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, in partnership with Emirates NBD, a leading banking group in the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye (MENAT) region, will soon launch a Point-of-Sale (POS) system that will give clients more payment options and enhance public service efficiency.

The initiative follows the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Emirates NBD on 22 October 2025.

The new system will enable consular clients to transact using their debit or credit cards and digital wallets. According to Consul General Angeles, the modernisation effort aligns with the Consulate’s broader goal of improving operational efficiency and client convenience, especially given that it processes more than 10,000 transactions each month.

All major cards and mobile payment options will be accepted without preset transaction limits, while a standard processing fee of 0.75% will apply to local card payments in line with banking regulations. Cash payments will remain available for clients who prefer them.
