A wave of pride swept through Al Ain on June 7, 2025, as more than 500 Filipinos from across the UAE gathered to commemorate the 127th Philippine Independence Day in a celebration filled with cultural vibrance, heartfelt tributes, and a deep sense of community.
Coming from cities like Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and beyond, OFWs and their families stood side by side to honor the sacrifices of Filipino heroes — past and present — and to reaffirm their shared identity, even far from home. The day unfolded with cultural performances, soul-stirring musical numbers, and powerful tributes dedicated to modern-day heroes: the overseas Filipino workers.
“This celebration was for every OFW in the crowd,” organizers emphasized, describing them as “the heartbeat of every Filipino home” and the enduring strength behind the nation’s progress.
Among the guests who graced the occasion was Hon. Arvic V. Arevalo, Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General, whose presence was a highlight of the celebration. Also acknowledged for their key roles in empowering the community were Ms. Love, Josie, Josie Conlu, Ms. Elena Cruz, and Prof. Gau Raganit, along with a host of performers, organizations, and volunteers.
The event, hosted by Event Sphere Party Organizing LLC, United Filipino Community Al Ain (UFCAA), PTCH Sports & Events, and Creative Style Tailoring – Al Ain City, left attendees not only proud but also deeply moved.
