Several Filipinos were reportedly detained in Qatar on Friday, March 28, for allegedly participating in an unauthorized political demonstration, according to the Philippine Embassy in Doha.
The Embassy confirmed it is coordinating with local authorities to ensure that consular support is extended to those arrested.
In light of the incident, the Embassy reminded all Filipino nationals in Qatar to remain mindful of local laws, particularly those governing public gatherings and political expression. It also echoed its earlier advisory from March 13 urging the community to avoid involvement in any form of protest activity.
