Filipino worker in Abu Dhabi marks birthday by feeding stray cats

In a heartwarming act of kindness, Jonathan Corporal Sibol, a 35-year-old overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Abu Dhabi, celebrated his birthday in a unique way by feeding 35 TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) cats. This birthday tradition, which he has been following annually, took place on Najda Street, Electra Street, and opposite of the Madinat Zayed in Abu Dhabi.

Jonathan, originally from the Philippines, has been an ardent animal rescuer and lover for nine years. His journey began in 2014 when he witnessed the plight of famished and undernourished stray cats on the streets. This moved him to take action, starting with providing food and drink to these vulnerable animals.

He later joined a stray cat organization to learn more about the TNR method, a humane approach to controlling the stray cat population through trapping, neutering, and returning them to their habitat. Jonathan advocates for adopting stray animals with his motto, “Adopt, don’t shop,” encouraging people to provide homes for strays rather than buying pets.
