Multiple Filipino voters have taken to social media to report alleged discrepancies in their votes during the 2025 Philippine elections, raising concerns over the accuracy of the electronic voting system. Several posts have gone viral, with voters sharing their experiences of what they believe are irregularities in the processing of their ballots.
This left Sicat feeling frustrated and without a clear solution.
Another voter, Beverly Wico Siy, also posted on social media, saying: “I voted for Akbayan Partylist, pero sa resibo, nakalagay Agimat Partylist. Sinabi ko agad, pinapirma ako ng certificate of challenge or protest. Pero paano yung ibang votes ko? Mabibilang pa ba yun?” Siy’s concern highlighted doubts over whether the rest of her votes would still be counted correctly.

On Twitter, Yoye (@yoyecaceres) expressed a similar problem: “OVERVOTE ang sabi sa resibo sa partylist section. I made sure maayos yung shade, pero nagkamali pa rin?” The user speculated that the ballot may have been misread by the machine.
Another user, KikoBam | 2025 (@truliors_), voiced his frustration: “Sakto shading, tama sa makina. Pero sa resibo? OVERVOTE daw.” His experience further fueled the growing concerns among voters.

Calls for voter Vigilance
The social media posts have sparked a wave of warnings among voters to meticulously check their receipts before leaving polling stations. Concerns are growing over the possibility of votes being incorrectly registered or even lost due to the reported discrepancies.
Akbayan Partylist, which was repeatedly mentioned in the complaints, has yet to release an official statement addressing the concerns of voters who claimed their votes were either misread or invalidated.
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has not yet issued a formal response regarding the rising complaints, but calls for an immediate investigation into the accuracy of vote counting machines are growing louder.
