Filipino tourist dies after collapsing on Hong Kong Disneyland ride

A Filipino tourist tragically died after losing consciousness while riding the Frozen Ever After attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland, according to a report by the South China Morning Post.

The 53-year-old collapsed during the boat ride on Friday morning, August 29, at around 10 a.m. His wife, who was with him at the time, realized he had slipped into a coma and immediately sought help from staff.

Park responders performed CPR while the boat was still docked, and he was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to revive him, he was declared dead at 11:30 a.m. Authorities confirmed that he had a pre-existing medical condition.

In a statement, Hong Kong Disneyland said: “The resort deeply regrets the passing of the guest and will do its utmost to provide necessary assistance to his family.” The spokesperson added that the park’s initial review showed “the incident is not related to ride safety.”

The Frozen Ever After ride takes visitors through a scenic boat journey featuring Elsa’s Ice Palace along with beloved characters and songs from Disney’s Frozen.
