Filipino teacher in Sharjah takes home top prize at Dakilang Manggagawang Pilipino 2025

Filipino educators once again shone brightly in the UAE as Mark Gerald Jore, an Inclusion Specialist based in Sharjah, was named the Grand Winner of Dakilang Manggagawang Pilipino sa UAE (DMP) 2025, one of the most prestigious recognitions for Overseas Filipino Workers in the Emirates.

Now on its fifth year, the DMP continues to celebrate outstanding Filipinos who embody excellence, compassion, and community spirit. This year’s top honor went to Jore, a Capiz-born educator and Registered Nurse who has devoted his career to inclusive education. Through his work in Dubai, he has championed learning spaces that empower students with diverse needs — a reflection of his deep commitment to shaping lives beyond the classroom.

Organized by Pinas Cargo, the DMP is anchored on four pillars — Dakila sa Pamilya, Dakila sa Trabaho, Dakila sa Komunidad, and Dakila sa Pananampalataya — recognizing OFWs who display exceptional dedication across all aspects of life.

The four-month search began with a media launch and nationwide nominations, followed by rounds of deliberations leading to the announcement of the Top 11 finalists. The grand finale turned emotional as stories of sacrifice and triumph were shared, highlighting the heart of the Filipino migrant experience.

Pinas Group of Companies CEO and Founder Marlyn Castro praised the finalists for their perseverance and selflessness, noting the importance of celebrating the people “who continue to make the Filipino name shine abroad.” Philippine Ambassador to the UAE H.E. Alfonso Ferdinand Ver and Consul General Marford Angeles also graced the event, together with Labor Attaché Atty. John Rio Bautista.

The evening culminated in the announcement of winners, with prizes and recognitions overflowing — a fitting tribute to the remarkable individuals who define what it means to be dakila.
