Filipino talents shine in Doha’s upcoming Little Shop of Horrors production

Doha’s theater scene is set to come alive with the highly anticipated staging of Little Shop of Horrors, presented by The Doha Players. The Broadway musical will run on April 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18, 2025, at the Main Theater in The Hamilton International School, Qatar.

The production follows the story of Seymour, a timid florist who stumbles upon a mysterious plant that catapults him to fame and fortune—but at a sinister cost. With its blend of doo-wop and Motown-inspired music, the show delivers an entertaining yet cautionary tale of ambition and greed.

Adding a Filipino touch to the cast, Joe Doronila takes on the role of Seymour, while another Filipino actor, Dorothy Collado, will play Chiffon, one of the trio of narrating street singers. The musical direction is helmed by Martin Fazon, also a Filipino, bringing further pride to the community.

The show boasts a diverse ensemble of talented individuals from different nationalities, working together to bring this cult classic to life. Theatergoers in Qatar can catch this vibrant production by securing their tickets via Q Tickets.
