Filipino SWAT team places 14th among 109 teams in UAE SWAT Challenge 2026

The Philippine National Police’s Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) delivered a strong international showing after placing 14th overall at the UAE SWAT Challenge 2026, one of the world’s most competitive tactical team events held in Dubai.

The Filipino squad competed against 109 elite teams from 48 countries, facing a multi-day series of high-pressure drills designed to measure real-world operational performance. The competition, hosted by Dubai Police, ran from February 7 to 11, 2026 at Dubai’s Training City in Al Ruwayyah, where participating units underwent timed scenario-based tests requiring speed, accuracy, coordination, and physical endurance.

The UAE SWAT Challenge is built around multiple tactical events, including simulated assault operations, officer rescue missions, tower and high-angle exercises, and demanding obstacle course stages, all completed under strict rules and penalty-based scoring. Teams are ranked based on overall performance across the challenges, with time and precision playing key roles in the final standings.

Following their return to the Philippines on Sunday, members of the PNP-SAF SWAT Challengers were formally welcomed by the Special Action Force, with the unit expressing pride in the team’s performance abroad.

Clips of the squad’s run also gained traction online, drawing praise from netizens who highlighted the team’s agility and strength during the high-intensity competition.

The UAE SWAT Challenge, which offers a total prize pool of $260,000, has become a major international platform where law enforcement units benchmark their tactical readiness alongside some of the world’s most specialized teams.
