Filipino singer and actress pursues her dreams from Davao to Las Vegas

A dedicated Filipino singer and actress, she was born in Davao City and completed her college education at Camiling Colleges in Tarlac. Jessibel Guinto, now a US citizen residing in Las Vegas, embarked on her journey to the spotlight influenced deeply by her musical upbringing. Growing up, her parents and siblings inspired her passion for music. “Hindi lang dahil hilig ko ito, pero tumatakbo sa dugo ko ang musika,” she shared, emphasizing the deep-rooted influence of her family.

From an early age, Jessibel dreamed of joining her siblings on stage, where they performed as a band. She fondly remembered pleading to sing with them, underscoring her determination. “Kahit bata pa ako, umiiyak ako para lang makasama sa kanila sa stage,” she said. Inspired by Selena Quintanilla, she imagined herself as a singer and actress, longing to be seen on TV, in movies, and heard on the radio. “Lagi kong ini-imagine noon ang sarili ko na isang araw, mapapanood sa TV, mapapakinggan sa radyo,” Jessibel recounted.

Despite facing countless challenges and moments of doubt, Jessibel’s perseverance eventually paid off. She first appeared as a guest singer on GMA’s Wowowin in 2017 and later on ABS-CBN’s Gandang Umaga Kapamilya in 2018. In 2023, she won the title of Mrs. Elite Philippines. Her acting portfolio expanded in 2024, including roles alongside stars such as Ara Mina in TV5’s Padyak Princess and portraying the mother of Bianca Tan in the indie film Believe it or Not. Jessibel also shared the screen with Vilma Santos and Nadine Lustre in The Uninvented and with Dingdong Dantes in Love After Love. She even appeared in digital ads for Personal Collection.

Jessibel’s path was fraught with obstacles. “Maraming beses akong nadapa, umiyak, at parang gusto nang sumuko,” she admitted. However, those who doubted her became her motivation. “Ang mga taong nandidiscriminate sa akin, sila ang nagbigay ng lakas ko para bumangon at lumaban,” she added.

Her advice for aspiring artists is to remain steadfast. “Huwag susuko kahit ilang beses na hindi magtagumpay. Gawin ninyong inspirasyon ang mga taong nagda-down sa inyo para mas lumakas,” Jessibel advised.

She left a reminder to those chasing their dreams: “Huwag nating madaliin ang pagkamit ng mga pangarap. Mag-focus sa tamang direksyon at tamang paraan.” Jessibel’s life motto resonates with her journey: “Win in silence, let them think you’re losing.”
