The Filipino Association of Safety Professionals Inc. (FASPI) successfully held its 2nd Grand Assembly, Oathtaking, and Awarding Ceremony under the theme “Empowering Safety Professionals for a Safer Tomorrow” on June 6, 2025, at the Drag Restaurant and Café in Al Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The milestone event gathered over 100 safety professionals, including new members, advocates, and guests, united in their mission to elevate occupational safety and health standards among Filipino workers both locally and internationally.
The program commenced with an inspiring Welcome Address by Mr. Berlito B. Antiquina, National Founding President of FASPI, who underscored the association’s milestones and emphasized the crucial role of Filipino safety professionals in ensuring workplace excellence and well-being.
A moving Cinematic Video Presentation of FASPI’s Accomplishments, prepared by Mr. Harry A. Gaveria, National Secretary General while Mr. Rey Jonathan G. Gallardo, Kaligtas Program Chairman and Board Member further elaborated on the Kaligtas Program, a signature safety initiative aimed at enhancing risk awareness, emergency preparedness, and protection protocols for Filipino migrant workers across the Gulf region.
A special highlight of the event was the Inspirational Message delivered by Hon. Allen Leonard C. Morden, Officer-in-Charge of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) – Eastern Region Operations, KSA. Introduced by Mr. Rey Felimon A. Agra, Assistant Secretary of FASPI, Hon. Morden praised the organization for its proactive efforts in building safer work environments for OFWs and promoting the welfare of safety professionals abroad.
In a show of strong solidarity and support, Mr. Jeorge A. Pelebillio, President and General Manager of Exploria Travel, he generously distributed Duty-free Philippines Balikbayan Cards to all attendees, unlocking exclusive discounts and perks for OFWs and their families. To further energize the event, he also raffled off two complimentary overnight hotel stay vouchers for two with buffet breakfast, redeemable at one of Exploria Travel’s premium partner hotels.
As a gesture of deep appreciation for his unwavering support and commitment to the Filipino safety community, FASPI conferred upon Mr. Pelebillio the distinguished title of Bonafide Honorary Member of FASPI—a testament to his role in bridging private sector collaboration with OFW-centered development initiatives.
Congratulatory messages were also shared by notable industry leaders and partners, including Mr. Joselito M. Bautista, Procurement Manager and Chartered Governor of SAEER-4, and Mr. Borhan AlFaiz, Owner of Skaeeb Trading and Contracting Company.
Mr. Salvador C. Cabang, Jr., FASPI Board Member, served as the Master of Ceremonies, ensuring the smooth and dignified flow of the program from beginning to end.
This grand assembly not only reaffirmed FASPI’s core vision to empower safety professionals but also served as a platform to foster unity, professional growth, and proactive safety advocacy among Filipinos in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and beyond.
