Filipino pride shines at Miss Universe with new Jewelmer-crafted crown

In a first for the Miss Universe pageant, this year’s winner will be adorned with a Filipino-crafted crown designed by high-end jewelry brand, Jewelmer. Revealed in Mexico City on Wednesday (Thursday Philippine time), the crown, named “The Light of Infinity,” features the South Sea Pearl, the Philippines’ national gem.

This historic piece is an intricate blend of South Sea pearls and diamonds arranged in wave-like patterns. The centerpiece, a striking golden pearl symbolizing the sun, radiates with diamond-encrusted rays, adding to its regal appeal.

Jewelmer founder Jacques Christophe Branellec expressed pride in showcasing Filipino craftsmanship, stating, “It is an honor to share with you the beauty of our national gem – the golden South Sea Pearl.” Established in 1979, the brand has long celebrated the uniqueness of the South Sea Pearl in its collections.

Chelsea Manalo, representing the Philippines, aims to bring home the crown on November 16 (November 17, Philippine time). The preliminary and national costume competitions will take place on November 14 (November 15, Philippine time). This moment highlights Filipino talent on an international platform and promotes the country’s jewelry industry to a global audience.
