The Filipino Nurses Association UK (FNA UK) in Northern Ireland recently concluded a successful Fun Walk for a Cause at Stormont Estate in Belfast on May 10, 2025. The event, organized in celebration of International Nurses Week, brought together nurses, healthcare professionals, supporters, families, and friends for a day of unity and support.
Led by Ms. Rosa Cueto, a dedicated advocate for Filipino nurses in Northern Ireland, the walk was held in support of the Florence Nightingale Foundation, which commemorated its 60th anniversary. The event aimed to raise awareness and funds for the foundation, known for its work in uplifting and inspiring nurses and midwives through education, leadership training, and support.

The walk, which took place against the iconic backdrop of Stormont Estate, became a powerful symbol of the dedication, resilience, and compassion that nurses bring to healthcare every day. Participants, including Filipino nurses who serve across various wards, care homes, and hospitals, came together not only to celebrate their profession but also to reflect on their contributions to the UK’s healthcare system.

BFS Healthcare, a known advocate for healthcare workers, proudly supported the event as one of the sponsors. The agency’s sponsorship underscored its commitment to the well-being and development of nurses, further highlighting the importance of celebrating the people behind the profession.

For the Filipino nurses who participated, the Fun Walk for a Cause was more than just a physical activity—it was a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of service they embody. It also served as an opportunity for them to connect, share stories, and honor the values of care, courage, and commitment that Florence Nightingale championed.
