A 34-year-old Filipino man from Tsuchiura, Ibaraki Prefecture, was apprehended on Monday for his alleged involvement in abandoning the bodies of a married couple, as reported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The man, whose occupation remains undisclosed, has confessed to the charges.
Authorities have identified the suspect as an acquaintance of a 30-year-old Filipino woman who had previously been arrested on the same charges. The investigation revealed that the duo conspired to abandon the bodies of a married couple, both in their 50s, beneath the floor of a residence in Tokyo’s Adachi Ward, around January 16.
Security camera footage analysis displayed the woman in the company of a suspicious individual near the couple’s residence on the day of the incident. Additionally, she was found to have disposed of bloodstained clothing in a nearby garbage can.
The woman had a prior romantic relationship with the couple’s eldest son, a 31-year-old, who indicated that their dispute over money he had lent her might have played a role in the grim events, according to police sources.
