A Filipino expat who has called the UAE his second home for over two decades is now celebrating a life-changing win—Beauregard Lim, originally from Manila, has officially joined the ranks of millionaires after winning AED 1 million in The UAE Lottery.
In an exclusive interview with The Global Filipino Magazine, Beauregard opened up about his journey—from financial struggles to a miraculous win that came when he least expected it.
“I found out on the night of the draw,” he said. “I wasn’t able to watch it live, but when I checked the result and saw my numbers, I was surprised and overjoyed. The first thing I did was say a prayer and went straight to tell my wife.”
Beauregard has been living and working in the UAE since April 2004, initially in logistics and later for a company in Abu Dhabi. Like many Overseas Filipinos, he has dedicated much of his life to supporting his family back home.
“This win means so much to me,” he shared. “It eases my financial struggles and gives me peace of mind. After working for so many years, it feels like a heavy weight has finally been lifted.”
The million-dirham prize is more than just a windfall—it’s a turning point. Beauregard plans to invest a portion of the money into a business for his son, ensuring a consistent and stable monthly income for their future.
“Winning AED 1 million means more than just a financial boost — it means peace of mind and lasting security for me and my family,” he said. “The first thing that came to mind was investing in something sustainable for my son. This isn’t just about spending—it’s about building.”
Interestingly, Beauregard had only recently discovered The UAE Lottery through social media. “I would buy just one ticket per draw. I’ve participated in lotteries before, but this was an amazing experience,” he recalled.
Despite the victory, he remains grounded and advocates for responsible gaming. “I support The UAE Lottery because it gives people hope. Winning is never guaranteed, but if you play, do it for fun and within your means,” he advised. “Stay hopeful and always be responsible in your choices. If you have extra money, play. But always prioritize your family’s needs first. Everything in life should have balance.”
