Filipino heritage takes center stage at Sheikh Zayed Festival’s Asian Festival in Abu Dhabi

The Bayanihan Council Abu Dhabi invites Filipinos across the UAE to take part in the vibrant Asian Festival at the prestigious Sheikh Zayed Festival on February 1, 2025 (Saturday), from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM at Sheikh Zayed Festival Grounds in Abu Dhabi. This special cultural showcase will highlight the richness of Philippine heritage through a Grand Parade and traditional performances, fostering unity and appreciation among the diverse communities in the UAE.

Under the theme “Fiesta Filipinas: Celebrating Culture, Traditions, and Art,” this highly anticipated event will feature a spectacular lineup of traditional Filipino performances, bringing to life the vibrant history and artistic expressions of the Philippines.

The Grand Parade is expected to be a visual spectacle, with participants adorned in authentic Filipino attire representing various regional costumes, showcasing the country’s diverse traditions. The event is an opportunity for Filipinos in the UAE to connect with their roots while sharing their rich cultural heritage with the wider international community.

To ensure a seamless and culturally immersive experience, the Bayanihan Council has set the following guidelines for attendees:

  • Free transportation will be available for registered participants.
  • Free entrance is granted to those wearing traditional Filipino clothing.
  • A 10 AED entrance fee applies to those not wearing traditional attire.
  • Participants in the Grand Parade must wear traditional Filipino outfits.
  • Dress Code Restrictions: Revealing outfits such as above-the-knee skirts, sleeveless tops, and low necklines are not allowed.
  • Male participants are strictly prohibited from wearing earrings and makeup.
