Renowned Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco is set to present the world’s first fashion gala through the Metaverse, showcasing the synergies between technology and fashion.
The groundbreaking event forms the cornerstone of the inaugural Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW), a celebration that goes beyond technology to explore the artistic possibilities unlocked through blockchain.
Known for dressing icons such as Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, and Rihanna, Cinco now turns his attention to pioneering a revolutionary fashion experience that erases the boundaries between the physical and the digital realms.
Cinco’s latest creations will be displayed in a dual runway event, where models will walk the physical runway while their avatars echo the same moves in the Metaverse, each draped in digital versions of the same ensemble.
“Philippine Blockchain Week isn’t just about technology–it’s about showcasing how the blockchain can complement creative professionals at the top of their field,” Chezka Gonzales, one of the PBW organizers, was quoted as saying by Vogue Philippines.
