A Filipino expatriate in the UAE, is celebrating a life-changing win after securing AED 100,000 in the Lucky Chance raffle of The UAE Lottery. Daniel Hermanos, who considers this victory just the beginning, expressed his determination to aim for the grand prize of AED 100 million, the highest-ever jackpot offered by the lottery.

The Filipino expat shared that his journey with the lottery began casually. “They were talking about it at work,” Hermanos said, recalling how his colleagues were enthusiastically signing up for the raffle. “I joined the fun,” he added, describing his decision to participate as spontaneous yet fortuitous.

Hermanos discovered his win through a notification on The UAE Lottery’s website. “I saw the pop-up that said I had won AED 100,000,” he said with a broad smile, reminiscing about the moment of disbelief and joy.

The UAE Lottery, launched in December 2024, is the country’s first officially regulated lottery, overseen by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). Participants can enter by purchasing tickets for AED 50 through the official website. The game involves selecting six numbers from 1 to 31 and one additional number from 1 to 12. Draws are held bi-weekly, offering a mix of small and large prizes.

According to the lottery’s guidelines, prizes of up to AED 100,000 are directly credited to winners’ accounts. For larger amounts, winners must contact the lottery operator to claim their prize.
