Filipino educators in Bahrain celebrate teaching excellence

The Philippine Teachers Association Bahrain (PTAB) has once again showcased the world-class talent and dedication of Filipino educators. On November 29, 2024, PTAB successfully hosted the 6th Educators’ Convention and Awards Night in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, under the theme “Filipino Teacher Voices: Shaping a New Identity for Educational Sustainability.”

Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, Her Excellency Anne Jalando-on Louis, graced the occasion, commending PTAB for its exceptional efforts in empowering Filipino teachers and supporting Filipino communities in the Kingdom. Highlights of the event included the recognition of Dr. Rexon Taguines (University of Bahrain) and Mr. Jeffrey Celajes (Creativity Private School) as the “Most Outstanding Filipino Educators in Bahrain 2024.” In addition, PTA-B also honored the exemplary teaching and service of Filipino teachers who have taught 5, 10, and 15 years in Bahrain. SPLE passers were also honored together with the writers of “Magtutudlo”, the first ever book project of PTAB.

Dr. Junifer Abatayo, PTAB President, expressed gratitude to the organization’s members and urged them to continue shaping their identities as resilient and adaptive global Filipino educators capable of thriving in a rapidly changing world.
