Filipino domestic worker murdered in Milan home break-in

A Filipino household helper was killed during a burglary in Milan, Italy on Sunday, prompting an outpouring of grief and calls for justice from the Filipino community.

According to the Philippine Consulate General in Milan, the victim—a 61-year-old Filipino national—was found lifeless in the home of her Israeli employer near Parco Sempione. Authorities believe she was strangled during the break-in.

Italian police arrested the suspect, a 28-year-old man from Gambia, at the scene shortly after the incident.

Officials from the consulate have met with the victim’s family and are coordinating efforts to repatriate her remains. They also assured the family of ongoing support during this difficult time.
