For Elite Force Dancer, dancing is about more than just being a good performer on the dance floor. It’s about passion, creativity, and dedication, as well as being responsible and learning the importance of teamwork.
A group initially composed of seven members who were known for being active on the video-sharing app TikTok in terms of dancing, it is now making a lot of appearances at different concerts and events across the UAE and special performances with international artists.
The group was formed unexpectedly by Filipinos working in art, marketing, logistics, education, and F&B industries. At first, they were selected to perform during the UAE National Day celebration in 2021, which featured Michael Learns to Rock, Boyce Avenue, and Emirati singing sensation Alira. They served as backup dancers for Alira during the event. Their special appearance paved the way for them to perform during the Paskong Handog Pinoy featuring several prominent Filipino singers, including Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
The group has been encouraged to form an official group. Spearheaded by Mr. Ferdie Arana, they’ve decided to call the group Elite Force Dancers under the events company Eye Candy Media & Events through Mr. Rey Delante.
Eventually, the group expanded and currently has 22 official members.
Last March 2022, they hosted the Mash-Up TikTok Challenge for their fellow Filipino dancers with the aim to help participants express their passion in any form of skills and talents through dancing.
Apart from regularly gracing Filipino community gatherings, they also have a regular gig every Saturday at the Le Meridien Hotel Dubai Airport, which started last October.
“The good thing about us was, we build our second family here where we are constantly learning so many things as our journey continues. We learned how to adapt to any changes, the discipline we must have to keep the group alive,” Ferdie said.
One great thing about the group is that each member contributes and collaborates with ideas to find a cohesive way to create creative concepts for their performances. Also, continuing to practice and persevere helps them improve their techniques over time, which is their primary goal.
“We don’t think of just performing in front of the crowd. We always consider a way how to get the heart of those people watching us. Their reactions and feedback are very important because this builds us as Elite Force Dancers,” the team leader added.
