Amid growing concerns over the spread of unverified reports and conflicting social media posts, the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai have issued an official advisory urging Filipinos in the UAE to stay vigilant and rely only on trustworthy news sources.
“In light of recent developments, and the surge of unverified and conflicting social media posts, reports and other online information,” the advisory reads, “we encourage all Filipinos in the UAE to closely monitor the news through reputable and credible sources.”
The Embassy and Consulate stressed the importance of checking for official advisories issued only by the Philippine missions and UAE authorities to avoid misinformation and panic. They emphasized that their offices remain ready to assist any Filipino in need of support or clarification.
The advisory comes as tensions in the region have fueled a wave of misinformation online, prompting the Philippine missions to strengthen their efforts in countering false narratives and ensuring the safety and awareness of the Filipino community.
