Filipino community group in RAK hands out 100 Iftar packs during Ramadan

A Filipino organization based in Ras Al Khaimah brought food to 100 residents in Al Khuzam on March 9, marking one of its community outreach efforts during the holy month of Ramadan.

The CIASI UAE 61892 Solid Juma – Ras Al Khaimah Chapter, the local arm of Samahang Ilokano 61892, organized the distribution as part of its Ramadan activities, with volunteers personally handing out each of the 100 prepared food packs ahead of the evening fast-breaking meal.

Iftar, observed at sunset each day throughout Ramadan, carries particular significance in the UAE, where acts of communal generosity during the holy month are widely practiced across different communities and nationalities.

The RAK chapter, which celebrated its fourth founding anniversary in November 2025, has maintained an active presence in the broader Filipino community across the UAE — participating in government townhalls, Independence Day events, and charitable drives.

Samahang Ilokano traces its origins to the 1940s as a fraternity founded to bring together Ilocano-speaking Filipinos, and has since grown into a global network with chapters across multiple countries, including several in the UAE.
