Filipino co-founder of viral Dubai chocolate launches ‘Sna’ap’ with UAE-inspired flavors

The Filipino chef and co-founder of the viral Dubai chocolate brand Fix has embarked on a new entrepreneurial journey by launching his own brand, Sna’ap.

After co-founding Fix in 2021 and helping it gain massive popularity in the region, Omamalin has stepped into the spotlight with his new venture, marking a bold move in his career as a culinary innovator.

In an exclusive interview with The Global Filipino Magazine, Nouel Omamalin opened up about his inspiration for creating Sna’ap.

“Working behind the scenes and contributing to others’ success can be rewarding, but if you stay there for too long, you risk not fully acknowledging your own impact—especially in areas like culinary innovation,” he shared.

After years of working behind the curtain, Omamalin felt it was time to embrace his creative potential and present something unique to the world.

“It’s time to embrace my place in this world and share my creations with a wider audience, and that’s how Sna’ap was born.”

What sets Sna’ap apart from other chocolate brands is its blend of tradition and innovation. Omamalin emphasized that Sna’ap is not just about chocolate but also about authenticity and inclusivity.

“Every bar is crafted with the finest ingredients, honoring the rich culinary heritage of the UAE, while pushing the boundaries of flavor,” Omamalin, who was declared the Emerging Global Filipino Icon 2024, said.

The brand aims to create a legacy similar to that of baklava or Arabian dates, positioning itself as the ultimate UAE-made gift.

“We’re not just about Filipino touches. Sna’ap is a celebration of culture, connection, and shared experiences.”

Though Omamalin’s heritage plays a role in his creations, he explained that Sna’ap goes beyond purely Filipino influences.

“What’s distinctly Filipino about Sna’ap is the ingenuity behind it, which draws from my roots but is deeply influenced by the rich heritage of the UAE,” he noted, adding that they are working on bringing unique Filipino flavors into future collections.

For chocolate enthusiasts eager to try Sna’ap, which is priced at AED28 per bar, pre-orders are now available through the brand’s website, with delivery options throughout Dubai.

As for those outside of the emirate, Omamalin revealed that the brand is expanding its distribution network across the UAE and beyond.

“We’re actively working on making Sna’ap more accessible,” he said. Exciting collaborations are also on the horizon, with select in-store locations to carry the chocolates soon.
