A bold new mural has been unveiled at the Hopkinton Public Library in celebration of this year’s Boston Marathon, and at the heart of it is 20-year-old Filipino-Chinese American artist Faith Sycaoyao. Known for her distinct style that fuses classical realism with digital techniques, Sycaoyao continues to redefine how art and public events can intersect.
Titled “Limitless,” her latest work commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Boston Marathon’s wheelchair division and honors trailblazer Bob Hall. The mural stands just steps away from the race’s iconic starting line in Hopkinton and will be available for public viewing throughout April. This marks the second consecutive year Sycaoyao’s art has been selected as the featured piece, building on a tradition launched in 2024 to highlight the cultural energy surrounding the world-famous race.
The project is a joint effort between the 26.2 Foundation and the Hopkinton Center for the Arts, with support from Dell Technologies and CorpCom Exhibits and Events. Sycaoyao’s involvement strengthens the growing link between athleticism and artistic expression, while also spotlighting diverse and emerging voices in public art.
Outside her creative work, Sycaoyao—who goes by the moniker NCLS—is also active in climate advocacy. As Communications Director and Deputy Graphics Director for the youth-led global organization Climate Cardinals, she has contributed to major climate campaigns and initiatives, including Climate Week NYC and COP29. Her art, often carrying themes of empowerment and environmental awareness, has been showcased in publications across the U.S., Spain, Germany, the UK, and the UAE. She was recently honored with the Outstanding Contribution to Global Youth Movements Through Art at The Global Filipino Icon Awards 2025, held on April 5, 2025, at Dusit Thani Dubai, where renowned journalist Kara David served as guest of honor.
From her mural work in Hopkinton to her philanthropic efforts and climate advocacy, Sycaoyao is shaping a new narrative where creativity and purpose move forward side by side—limitless in every sense.
