Celebrated Filipino architect and watercolor artist Edcel Cabalan is set to present his latest solo exhibit, Landmarks of Legacy: A Grand Tour of Filipino and Emirati Architecture, during the 127th Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 14, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The exhibition will be part of the annual cultural showcase organized by The Filipino Social Club-Dubai, running from 8 AM to 8 PM.
Known for his award-winning impressionist style, Cabalan once again blends artistry with cultural advocacy. This upcoming collection pays homage to the architectural grandeur of both the Philippines and the UAE—two countries that have shaped his life and creative journey.
Landmarks of Legacy brings together a new body of work that highlights iconic sites from both nations, celebrating not just their structural beauty but also the histories and cultural values they represent. Through his detailed watercolor renderings, Cabalan offers a visual narrative that connects two distinct cultures with shared ideals of heritage, resilience, and innovation.
As a Dubai-based artist with a global following, Cabalan has long used his art to tell stories of memory and identity. This latest exhibit, set against the backdrop of the Independence Day celebration, aims to deepen cross-cultural understanding and promote dialogue through visual storytelling.
More than an art show, the exhibit is expected to be a cultural bridge—one that celebrates both Filipino pride and the spirit of unity with the UAE, a nation that has embraced and empowered many overseas Filipinos like Cabalan.
The one-day exhibition is open to the public and is anticipated to draw thousands of visitors, offering them a chance to experience the intersection of heritage and modernity through the eyes of one of the Filipino art scene’s most respected talents.
