Filipino-American vocalist impresses three coaches during ‘The Voice’ Blind Auditions

Filipino-American singer Kay Sibal captivated the coaches on “The Voice” with her rendition of Laufey’s “From the Start” during the Blind Auditions. Sibal, 24, from Los Angeles, California, received praise from three out of the four coaches, with only country icon Reba McEntire opting not to turn her chair.

Snoop Dogg admired Sibal’s control and confidence, describing her performance as “jazzy” and well-executed. Gwen Stefani, who ultimately became her coach, praised Sibal’s open-hearted energy and expressed excitement about helping her reach her full potential. Michael Buble was equally impressed, noting how Sibal made the song her own and highlighting her potential to cross genres from jazz to pop.

Although McEntire didn’t turn, she acknowledged Sibal’s light, free-flowing voice, calling it beautiful.

In the end, Sibal chose Stefani as her coach for her journey on the popular singing competition.
