Filipina teen makes history with triple win in Southeast Asia’s drift scene

Thirteen-year-old Bella Krabbe-Cañete has made waves in motorsport after becoming the youngest female drifter in Southeast Asia and the first Filipina to secure a three-peat victory in the Rookie category of a professional drifting series in Indonesia.

Her latest win in Round 3 adds to earlier triumphs in Rounds 1 and 2, marking a clean sweep in the division. Racing against more experienced drivers, Bella showcased exceptional control, fearless cornering, and the kind of precision usually seen only in veterans of the sport.

Originally from San Fernando, La Union, Bella’s passion for racing began long before she could legally drive. She started in karting, claiming the 2021 Cadet Expert Championship and Cadet Karter of the Year title in the Philippines. In 2023, she transitioned into drifting with just a handful of practice sessions before competing abroad—and still managed to score podium finishes.

Her rise has been rapid. In May 2024, she became the youngest Filipina to win an all-women’s drift event overseas during the Women’s Drift Challenge in Indonesia. By early 2025, she was not just competing but dominating, securing titles in both the Women’s Drift Challenge (Pro-Am) and the mixed-gender IDS NewGen category.
