After 25 years in Abu Dhabi, Filipina worker Alejandra Pura Fodra finally received the blessing she had long prayed for — a AED 100,000 win from the Dear Big Ticket draw.
The 54-year-old nursery assistant has faced years of separation from her children and the heartbreak of losing her eldest son in a road accident. Despite the grief, she carried on working, determined to provide for her family.
The pandemic worsened her struggles when her husband lost his job, forcing her to send her children back to the Philippines. Her youngest has since been in the care of her elderly mother.
Fodra said the cash prize would allow her to bring both her 11-year-old son and her mother to the UAE at last. “This has been my prayer for so long. Even talking about it now makes me emotional. I want to say a heartfelt thank you to the Big Ticket team for making my dream come true,” she said.
