A Filipina who has been residing in Japan for 35 years is all set to represent the Filipino community in Japan at the prestigious Mrs. Universe pageant.
A proud alumna of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila with a degree in Mass Communication, specializing in Advertising & Theater Performing Arts, Marissa Joelle has always been passionate about promoting and preserving Filipino culture.
A former member of the Inrayog Folkloric Dance Group Philippines, her devotion to performance is evident.
“You have to grow in your passion, never stop performing, pray for wisdom and God’s perfect timing,” says Joelle, encapsulating her commitment to the arts.
Earlier this month, Joelle showcased her modelling prowess at Fashion Forte, where she adorned a creation by designer Toni Kimpo, themed “Rise of Phoenix”, at the Grand Ballroom of Crowne Plaza in the Asian country.
Apart from her preparations for the upcoming Mrs. Universe pageant, Joelle is also venturing into acting.
She’s been cast as a lead actress in the film BL (Boys Love) series “On Line in Love”, directed by Jag Cruz of Mabuhay PH Digital Network.
“I have full confidence in Marissa Joelle’s acting talent. She is naturally captivating on screen,” Cruz remarked.
The Mrs. Universe pageant, organized by Megastar Production Company, will take place from October 4 to 14, 2023, in Manila.
The Grand Finale is scheduled at Newport World Resorts on October 13.
