A Filipina fan had the ultimate fangirl moment during The Script’s electrifying concert in Dubai on Saturday, April 12, 2025, when she was randomly picked from the crowd by frontman Danny O’Donoghue—and ended up dancing with him on stage.
Held at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, the concert was part of McGettigan’s “Late Late Paddy’s Party”—a vibrant celebration of Irish music and culture. The event, originally planned for St. Patrick’s Day, was rescheduled due to Ramadan and featured a full-day lineup of artists, food trucks, and festive energy that carried into the night.
Amid the crowd, one fan stood out. Her name, which sounded like Cielo, was written on an A4 sheet along with her bucket list. It read: “Attend a The Script concert” (already ticked) and “Hug Danny.” To her disbelief, Danny spotted her sign, called her up on stage, and made both wishes come true.
Cielo received a warm hug from the Irish singer-songwriter, drawing cheers from the audience despite the sweltering heat signaling the start of summer in the UAE. The moment got even more surreal when Danny asked her to sit beside him as he performed Never Seen Anything “Quite Like You.” Before singing, he shared that this could be the last time he serenades a fan on stage, as he’s set to marry longtime girlfriend Anais Naing, with whom he got engaged in August 2024.
Cielo, clearly a true fan, was seen on the LED screen singing every lyric with emotion, sitting just inches from Danny’s mic. As the song’s instrumental played, Danny stood up and invited her to dance, sending the crowd into a wild frenzy.
For many in the audience—largely millennials who grew up with The Script’s music—the concert was more than just a show. It was nostalgia in full volume, with the band delivering timeless hits like The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, Six Degrees of Separation, and Hall of Fame.
Adding to the night’s magic, Danny tossed out guitar picks and even stepped offstage to sing among the fans, making it a night no one—especially Cielo—will soon forget.
