A Filipina expat, identified as Babeth, won a Dh10,000 cash prize in the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Dubai Metro Mystery Man Challenge on Thursday, October 31. Held at the Deira Old Souq Marine Station, the event, according to an Expat Media report, drew a crowd eager to win and join the excitement around the elusive “Mystery Man.”
The twist for this round was that instead of participants seeking out the Mystery Man at a designated Metro station, he would seek out a participant himself. Earlier in the day, hopefuls secured their place by texting “MM” to 4003, a move that added anticipation as attendees gathered around 6:30 PM for the chance to be selected.
When the Mystery Man appeared, he began making calls to the registered numbers, with many calls going unanswered. On the twelfth attempt, Babeth picked up, sparking cheers from the crowd. Inspired by a radio mention of the contest on Tag 91.1, she asked, “Are you the Tag 91.1 Mystery Man?” confirming her win with his response.
In an interview with Tag 91.1, Babeth shared her excitement and plans to share her prize with family and friends. The Mystery Man Challenge will hold its final round on November 1, with an additional Dh10,000 and a 50-gram gold bar up for grabs, adding to the thrill of the Public Transport Day celebration.
